Reconciling education and mental health

A collective forum to reaffirm the need to reconcile education and mental health

"Our aspiration to offer our children a fulfilling development has long come up against a compartmentalization between the health, medico-social and school spheres."

To mark the launch of the Institut du cerveau de l'enfant (Child Brain Institute), some thirty signatories (researchers, political, institutional and healthcare players) have co-signed an editorial promoting the convergence of research, medicine and education for the benefit of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

On March 19, to mark the official launch of the Institut Robert Debré du Cerveau de l'Enfant, some thirty signatories (researchers, clinicians, scientists and institutional players) expressed their views in the columns of Figaro. Their main message is the urgent need to bring together scientific research, medicine and education, to better understand brain development and improve the trajectory of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Today, it's all about:

  1. break with institutional segmentation: our model must place the child at the center of an integrated, multidisciplinary approach
  2. to use rigorous and robust scientific data topersonalize the therapeutic approaches proposed for each child, to share reliable information with families and to inform the choices made by public authorities.
