A PhD recognized in France is required for this position.

It really depends on the qualifications of the candidate. For instance, if the candidate has an MD-PhD, he/she shall have a joint clinical and research position, therefore the salary range will be specific and rather different that for candidate with a PhD, who shall have a Research Director position.

  • Yes, a start-up package shall be allocated to the new director for its own research group (at least 3 M€ for 5 years?)
  • A tenure track position will be created within the director’s team by Paris Cité University.
  • Additional funds could be granted by the State (e.g., the Choose Science for France initiative)
  • The call is for a full position. Given the expectation for the position especially during these early years for our institute, it is difficult to imagine a split with another academic center.
  • Transition period may be agreed in special situations.

Letters of reference will be requested after the selection of the short list of selected candidates (up to 5).

  • Benefits may be associated with the position such as relocation and housing, depending on the successful applicant’s needs.
  • Health, retirement and transportation are benefits that are set by French law which shall apply to the new director.

If the candidate belongs to the European Community, the possibility of practicing is almost automatic. If the candidate is not from the European Community, a response will be provided on a case-by-case basis.

There are several possibilities. For instance, the CEA which is one of the five co-funders of the Institute, has a sequencing center that the teams can use (fees applying).

French is the main language on a daily basis in the Institute, but English could be the working language. If the candidate does not speak French fluently, fluency in English is essential.
